My path into and throughout Digital Media & Film

My passion for digital media and film began with capturing photos and videos of the people, animals, and experiences that matter most to me. Over time, I realized how powerful visual storytelling can be in helping people remember moments, connect with others, and understand important issues.
When my school introduced a digital media major, I began taking hands-on courses that confirmed this was the field I wanted to pursue. Through these classes, I developed a deeper understanding of how media can be used to raise awareness, promote organizations, communicate meaningful messages, and support marketing and public relations efforts.
One of the most impactful experiences in my journey was completing a media internship at SOS Animal Sanctuary in Portugal. While there, I helped document the sanctuary’s work and contribute to their advocacy efforts by creating visual content that supported their mission.
Once returning to the States and going into my minor year of college, I’ve continued to build my skills by creating media projects and running a social media account called “hallys_herd,” which shares content that raises awareness for animal-focused organizations. I also work with creative tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe InDesign to produce well-structured and engaging digital content.
Moving forward, I hope to use digital media, storytelling, and creative communication to support organizations through marketing and public relations that creates a positive impact.
